Lets set some Goals

Honors Geometry will be a faster paced class with some higher expectations for you the students and me the teacher. Here are a few of the goals I have set for the class.

1) Home work twice a week

2) 100% of the class should be proficient on the common assesments

3) Complete some kind of class media project, like a movie, blog, or website created by your class.

What do you think about these goals? I know how you will all feel about #1 but what benefit would doing HW have for you as future college students?

Final Reflection

Alright guys as part of our final exam think about and answer the following questions with some short paragraphs on this blog.

1) Write a short paragraph describing 3 new things about Geometry that you learned this term.

2) Write a short paragraph describing your expereince with technology in math class. Talk about things we did in class, like the smartboard, gizmos, class website, class blog, internet hunt or math millionaire. Is this stuff making math class better?

End of Pythagoras Scavenger Hunt

I find it incredible and amazing how we can be learning and studying something that some guy taught thousands of years ago. Do you guys find it cool that this knowledge can last for so long and be passed on for so many years?

What do you think school must have been like thousands of years ago?

Imagine how much the world has changed since Pythagoras was alive. In my own life I have seen the invention of video games, computers, cell phones, GPS, text messaging, internet. What things do you guys think will be invented by your generation that people will be studying thousands of years from now?

Welcome Back!!!

Hi everyone, welcome back to school. Summer break is over, booooo! But the good part is it's time to get back to work and have some fun. Did anyone do anything cool this summer? Lets start this class blog with some stories from you guys. I got to go to South Dakota for a 4 day football camp with the team, I also went white water rafting with some teachers in June, and snuck in a week to go home to Miami, Florida to visit my buddy's, my family and the beach!! So what did you guys and girls do this summer?
